Privacy Protections on Probate Cases

Pennsylvania may protect confidential information through redaction, and may allow guardianship hearings to be closed.

The court, either on its own or through a motion from a party, may require confidential information to be redacted from documents. In guardianship actions, the hearing may be closed and without a jury if the protected person or its attorney makes a request that is granted by the court.
